What’s new with Change Management v3?
In September 2024, APMG updated the syllabus and content for the Change Management certification, releasing the new Change Management Certification (Version 3) to replace the previous Change Management 2015 certification.
There are several differences between the new and old syllabi, including:
- Removed Topics: Some topics are no longer included (e.g., complex adaptive systems, development of an effective team, project management governance).
- Simplified Topics: Some topics have been simplified (e.g., change impact and severity assessment, resistance).
- Reduced Topics: Some topics have been reduced (e.g., change teams, emergent change, motivation).
- Improved Topics: Some topics have been enhanced or had their emphasis shifted (e.g., change strategy, new focus on co-design for facilitation).
- New Topics: New topics have been added (e.g., handling conflict, continuous change management cycle, introduction to ADKAR).
