iLEARN Agile Knowledge Centre
What is Agile management?
Agile innovation methods have revolutionized information technology. Over the past 25 to 30 years they have greatly increased success rates in software development, improved quality and speed to market, and boosted the motivation and productivity of IT teams.
Now agile methodologies—which involve new values, principles, practices, and benefits and are a radical alternative to command-and-control-style management—are spreading across a broad range of industries and functions and even into the C-suite.
Not only is Agile management applicable to all industry but, within an organization, it can be used for transformation (e.g. project management), product development or business as usual (e.g. improving a marketing team performances). The umbrella of Agile approaches has solutions for any of these domains.
Which are the benefits of Agile management?
The spread of agile raises intriguing possibilities. What if a company could achieve positive returns with 50% more of its new-product introductions? What if marketing programs could generate 40% more customer inquiries? What if human resources could recruit 60% more of its highest-priority targets? What if twice as many workers were emotionally engaged in their jobs? Agile has brought these levels of improvement to IT. The opportunity in other parts of the company is substantial and the key proven benefits are:
- Increased collaboration
- Higher team morale
- Improved product quality
- Improved transparency
- Higher customer satisfaction
- Improved cost predictability

Where to start from?
This basically depends on your needs. iLEARN has predefined resources (e.g. training courses) but is also able to build customized learning and support path to fit them perfectly. Below, you’ll find some typical needs of Agile practitioners and the corresponding iLEARN solution. If you don’t find your case or the suggested solution does not fully fits your needs, contact us to design your customized ideal one.
I need a full overview of Agile management
The AgileLearn® qualification path is ideal to provide knowledge and mastering of agile management.
The AgileLearn® Agile Master Certified course provide a unique and exhaustive view of what is agile management (product governance, development flow, culture and mindset), details on many of the most popular frameworks (Kanban, Extreme Programming, Lean Startup, DevOps, Software Craftmanship) and guidance on how to choose them and implement agility at a team, project or localized level. It deals with the application of agile at all levels: product management and/or project management.
The AgileLearn® Scaled Agile Master Certified course provides the needed knowledge to scale the use and benefits of agile approaches from a single team, project or product to the whole company and/or portfolio of products / projects. It provides a unique and exhaustive view of agile management at scale (scaled product ownership, scaled development flow, scaled culture & mindset), details on many popular frameworks for agility at scale (Less, Nexus™, Scrum@Scale, SAFe®, Disciplined Agile) and guidance on how to choose them and implement agility at scale.
I need a simple and effective Agile approach to manage project or product development
Scrum is the most popular and used Agile approach in the world. It is useful for product or simple project management. ScrumLearn® is the qualification scheme of iLEARN providing all the needed skills to optimally conduct Scrum projects. The scheme provides three levels (with their corresponding training courses), each target to a specific role to play in Scrum: Scrum Master, Scrum Product Owner and Scrum Developer.
I need to improve business processes or develop products starting from existing practices
A Kanban System does not only provide a powerful mean of visualizing and limit the work-in-progress of processes (with a positive demonstrated effect on the quality of the output and productivity) but also provides the everything needed to improve the flow (process). This Agile approach is well suited to process-oriented cultures that prefer evolutionary improvements with few prescribed practices. KanbanLearn® is the iLEARN qualification scheme providing the knowledge to understand what is a Kanban system and how to implement and operate it successfully.
A Kanban System approach visualizes and encourages improvement but does not provide an exhaustive approach to analyse and define the improvements. To this aim, LEAN is very effective and can be used alone or in combination with a Kanban System. iLEARN provides LEAN courses and certifications for business processes management and for the specific IT context (LEAN IT).
I am a PRINCE2® practitioner and I would like to hybridize with agile
PRINCE2 Agile is a very complete Agile project management solution, combining the flexibility and responsibility of agile with the governance of PRINCE2 (one of the most known project management practices of the world). It is suitable for everyone wishing to understand what agile is and how it works so that they can tailor PRINCE2 appropriately and integrate with it. iLEARN is and Accredited Training Organization for all available qualification levels of PRINCE2 Agile and PRINCE2 and offers all the corresponding official training courses.
