Why Agile management?

In an environment of intense competition and increasing change, adapting, improving and/or enhancing and transforming the way of working is crucial, for individuals and organizations, to compete and survive. Agile management in contrast with a "traditional" way of managing projects has emerged as very successful to this aim, across all industries and at all levels, the whole organization, departments and teams.

What is Agile management?

Values, mindset, behaviors, principles, practices, techniques frameworks, organizational styles and even leadership styles are directly or indirectly labeled under the term "Agile" to help individuals and organizations to succeed in the challenge of optimizing the response to change, both in transformation (e.g. by means of projects) and business as usual contexts. Many frameworks, methods, approaches emerged in the last decades, some of them even before. Lean, Scrum, Kanban, XP Programming, DevOps, Agile PM, PRINCE2 Agile, Scrumban, Lean Startup, Design Thinking, etc. are just some of these approaches that Agile practitioners are leveraging.

All these approaches are different and best suited in specific contexts of use but they generally share at least common cultural aspects, principles, mindset.

What is AgileLearn®?

In this "jungle", it clearly emerges that there is the need for knowledge and competences to get oriented and master the path to achieve the benefits promised by the "Agile" culture and tools.

For this reason, iLEARN has developed the AgileLearn® qualification scheme as depicted below. The scheme provides the certifications levels and the related knowledge needed to master Agile concepts, frameworks, methods and practices, both when addressing transformation (e.g. by means of projects) or business as usual, at small or large-scale adoption level.

The core of the AgileLearn® qualification scheme are the following two levels:

AgileLearn® Agile Master Certified certification
Agilelearn® Agile Master Certified is a cross-practice qualification aimed at providing the knowledge needed to optimally leverage all the elements of the Agile "umbrella" and finally to improve project success or business as usual performances. In particular, it helps to classify and find out the right mix of agile practices to manage the products, handle software development, organized and manage the flow of work or use hybrid approaches.

AgileLearn® Scaled Agile Master Certified certification
Agility is usually implemented initially at a local level, e.g., team, project. When successful, it becomes natural to scale the approach to the whole organization to fully achieve its benefits. However, this has proved to be a challenge and, here too, several approaches have been developed to govern this evolution. AgileLearn® Scaled Agile Master Certified is a cross practice qualification aimed at providing the knowledge needed to scale Agile approaches in organizations.

Who should get Agile certified?

The AgileLearn® Agile Master Certified certification is useful to a wide audience. From one side those who do not know much yet about agility and desire to understand what is in clearly and how to approach it (where to start from). On the other side, to practitioners of specific agile practices (e.g. Scrum Masters) who need to leverage/integrate other agile approaches or simply need to understand the full scope of agility and how to extend it. Agile coaches/facilitators, experts, project managers, team leaders, process owners, service managers, business managers are only some examples of roles that could benefit from this qualification.

The AgileLearn® Scaled Agile Master Certified certification focuses on the implementation of agility at scale in a whole organization. It is therefore very interesting for all practitioners involved in this process. Agile coaches/facilitators, experts, project managers, team leaders, process owners, service managers, business managers are only some examples of roles that could benefit from this qualification.

How do I get Agile certified?

iLEARN developed the AgileLearn® qualification scheme to support the spread and develop the understanding and knowledge of the whole agile context.  The best way to get certified is following AgileLearn® accredited courses, online or by traditional approaches. However it is possible to prepare for the examination by self-study, although this is not the recommended approach.

How can I study Agile?

iLEARN makes available the training to achieve AgileLearn® certifications in the following modalities:

• Classic
  • On pre-scheduled dates: traditional classroom training at iLEARN premises
  • in-house: traditional classroom training scheduled based on client needs and at customer’s or iLEARN premises
• Distant-learning: following a remote classroom by means of a webconference
• E-learning: training provided through our online learning management system from anywhere and anytime
• ONE-to-ONE: access to e-learning platform and interactive sessions via web-conference with the accredited teacher

Earn PDUs with AgileLearn®

Our AgileLearn® training courses can provide Professional Development Units (PDUs) through an auto-declaration procedure on PMI’s portal. Here below you can find more details about the PDUs allocation for each level of the AgileLearn® certification scheme:
